Rockingham Co. school board votes against having public prayer

EDEN, N.C. -- The Rockingham County school board has voted against opening its public meetings with a prayer in a 7-3 vote on Monday night.

The Greensboro News & Record reported that the vote ended a month of heated discussions. Board member Leonard Pryor resigned May 1 over the issue.
