Despite court battles from coast to coast, many area football coaches still do pregame prayers

"I'm a little nervous talking about it with all the court cases," Novak said. "But everywhere I've coached it's been engrained. Whiting. Clark. East Chicago. It's a team-bonding type of thing. We say our prayer before we go to battle. We do it in the locker room. The captain comes up and says the 'Our Father' prayer.
